Heya,
I'm working on organizing a collaboration between all of the Shadowdark creators from Appx. N Jam. If you're interested find me on the SD Discord or msg on bsky.
uuuu that's so cute and cool! That's how you work on a prompt. Puzzle is perfect, works smoothly. Good! Will play!
I like the idea of the puzzle and the palace theme. It would be pretty fun to keep trying to mess with the mirrors and waterfalls and the chimera/naga/wyvern/thing until the party figures it out. However I struggled to understand the mechanism so central to this dungeon. I think some other drawing would help, but it would necessitate some layout changes. Overall, fun possibility for those who have better mental mapping abilities than me.
I like the central puzzle, but it's not clear to me why the players would get involved with it.
Some players certainly would -- give them a button to press and they pound on it -- but I can also see a lot of players going "well, we changed it to a chimera; let's leave." I know space is at a premium, but I would probably pop the font size down one and flesh this out a bit with more reasons for players to interact with the puzzle.
I love the theme and idea of using colors, but I had a hard time grasping the solution
I really like this adventure site. It's very unusual, and I always get excited by puzzles like this! I have to admit I had a bit of a hard time understanding the mechanism. Maybe starting with a solution state would help there. But I'm also not the best at wrapping my head around these kind of challenges. I'm sure a few more reads and I'd have it downpat.
Overall really cool and atmospheric. Do you think 3 hours is a good amount of time to solve the problem? That's something I never know how to judge.

This is a tidy puzzle, a tragic backstory, and also a complete loop for a one shot with a ticking clock. All well done!
The presentation as a Shadowdark adventure specifically is only thin because there are no typical random encounters, no certain necessity for a torch or spelunking, no treasure.... but, as a point of design if this had been explicitly system agnostic all of these things might be provided in some other context.
As is I believe that The Pale Palace feels like it would be a good finale scenario to a regional story or hook that leads players to investigate and for that it sparks the imagination on how one might get there.
The cover fits the coloured light-based puzzle really well... immediately send me back into memories of past travels. Great theme!
This is a really cool puzzle dungeon, the adventure has a great story to draw players in! I like your interpretation of the title, it was one of the titles I suggested, well done!
