How does the game fit the theme?
Keeper of the Way interprets “Trust No One” as a test of judgment. Each guardian offers guidance and teaches a new skill, but no one can decide when the player is truly ready. Players must test what they are taught, rely on their own growing abilities, and ultimately choose when to enter the final judgement.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All the code was done by us and we made some tweaks to the pixel assets using Aseprite

hey, great game! Love the atmosphere, the mechanics tutorial, the pixel art, the characters. Music is working well too. Only the sound design is a downer for me, some sfx are louder, some are displaced, some doesn't belong to the atmosphere of the game at all, like the jump one.  Good work ;)

Hi everyone!

We were really sleep here in the US while submitting the project. The "Lack" of abilities at the beginning is intended! *Hint* You can interact with the NPCs and Doors. You will unlock the game more by playing and revealing all the fun we managed to pack into this first project of ours.

I'm working on a postmortem dev post  that'll go more into the process for the project.

The graphics looked fantastic. I'd like a little more guidance so I know what to do—I almost quit the game because I couldn't jump or dash (for others who are also clueless: You have to go through the first door; that's where you get the abilities).

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah we  were really pushed for time and it was just one thing we couldn't implement. We wanted to make the intro and story telling to help aid the players into the right direction i.e. a signs or a better flow.

maybe its because i'm on laptop but I can't jump or talk or dash. Love the art.

It's a feature of the game! Sorry for the lack of guidance but it's not your computer... unless you need something to blame on why you're dying so much. Art came from other credited creators but I worked hard on the animation and trying to make it feel and look smooth as possible. forceofaqua did most of the level design and putting together the assets.

Hoping to find a dedicated artist for future projects!
