How does the game fit the theme?
No One's Journey is a game about trust, deception, and lies.
The theme is also interpreted literally, in the sense that No One, the main character, is the only character you can really trust through out the game, and thus, you should trust No One.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
The 2 music of the game were composed by myself before the jam, but without the intention of using them in a specific project at that time.
The sound effects for jumping, landing, dashing, and using a jump pad come from youtube, tho they were all remixed by myself.
The death sound effect comes from Geometry Dash (and was remixed).
The font used (BoldPixel) comes from Yuki, on itch.io .

Very reminiscent of Celeste! I got a bit frustrated at the level where there was a tunnel of spikes to dash through. The controls very responsive. Great Job!

I feel this gets too much off of Celeste and I also don't like how the death sound was ripped out of Geometry Dash. I'd say, make the background move(like make the clouds move, and maybe the background behind that too, but use parallax if you do). You should make the stars sway and most importantly, ADD PARTICLES. Adding particles would do so much for this game, granted you do the rest. I'd also add more tiles and a transition animation from level to level.

i love how much this game resembles Celeste! i'm not 100% sure that this was your intention but you really succeeded in  prototyping a game that could live in the same universe. 5 stars!

Developer

Yes, the inspiration is intentional! The color palette for the background is literally the one used in chapter 4 of Celeste.

Nice art, and love how you really leaned into the theme :)

Nice balance of difficulty - challenging enough to keep you engaging but not frustrating

Good game

The art is really cool, and I really like the idea behind the game! The gameplay is quite complicated at first, but once you start understanding how everything works, it becomes really interesting.
