How does the game fit the theme?
Signals received may or may not come from your enemies so you must be careful about which messages you can or cannot trust.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Sound assets were not made from scratch, but everything else was.

The idea seems great and the visuals are very nice, but I had a really hard time trying to play the game
I didn't really succeed in sending anything because my timing when trying to enter morse code was pretty bad, giving "HT" instead of "4" for exemple or "NN" instead of C. I couldn't figure out how to add a space either, waiting does not seem to do anything. The biggest problem is that there is no way to erase what you have done (I know it would not be possible with real military communications but it could really have been nice to have in the game - maybe a button automatically sending some kind of "sorry, restarting" error message in morse code to reset it all) so I tried to change frequency to "reset" the message in some way but the log quickly stopped recording anything (after the content in the screenshot, nothing is being recorded anymore, I think the text field reached its limit)
There were also things I wasn't totally sure of, like should I include the tag ? (I supposed not) When should I apply the Cipher ? Not to the tag I guess, but to the message being sent ? It's a CESAR1 cipher, right ? Should I have sent "B5 DMS" for the first message ?
I would be interested in retrying the game if you add some sort of reset button, but for now it seems I'm too bad at typing morse code to succeed
Things you could improve in terms of UI : - the text is a bit on the small side and the heavy paper texture makes it even less comfortable to read, it could be nice to change the texture or make it a bit lighter and have the font size be a little bigger in the introduction message and second page of the desk manual (maybe spreading the text in multiple pages) - A margin around the introduction message and second page of the desk manual would be nice as well, the text feels too close to the border
Things you could improve in terms of UX : - it would be nice to be able to have the morse code sheat sheet open when sending a message, but the window is a bit too small for that (since the telegraph key is in the center of the screen) - fullscreen isn't working (the game window isn't rescaling)
This could become an awesome game, especially to practice morse with purpose and in a fun way. Right now it's a bit too difficult to understand what's going on or wether one's doing things correctly. I can check what I'm writing in the tiny book, which is great and compensates a bit the strictness in "beep" length detection, but there's no comprehensible enough feedback on wether the message and station were right. On the bright side, the artistic part was really good, and the theme use as well. I'd really like to see more of this.
The art and atmosphere look AWESOME, it really made me want to play. I tried to translate/decode the message several times but the beeps are really fast.
don't worry, it translates the message in your little book! It also writes down any morse code that you write down in there too!
i love the style of the game, i kept clickin the telegrapth and radio…
i would’ve loved a tutorial since i did not understand it much
felt so dum :< tho the game seems nice overall rated it based on how much i like this unique idea
can u pls rate/play my game too
Okay, ill start with what i really liked. it looked amazing. art was fantastic. I really loved that you had to actually interact with the radio and the telegraph to work them. The story looks really good and the gameplay seems solid. Now the issue: I couldn't actually play the game. i gave it a few tries but i just cant understand what the beeps mean. There's no way to replay the message that i can find and they just come so fast. im also not sure i know how to work the telegraph. i tried putting in some random beeps then sending the end message code but nothing happened. i played with the radio a bunch, i just couldnt get it working and it seems because i dont know morse code.
Overall, it looks really fun, i wish i could enjoy it properly. Great job.
Thank you so much for your comment! We had thought it might be difficult to actually get started with the game, but we unfortunately didn't have time for the last minute changes we wanted.
The beeps you receive get written down in your little book so you know what's being sent to you. The morse code you write also gets written down in there. The knobs allow you to change frequencies, which is needed for sending your messages to where they need to go. The big book also has a how-to for morse code and a second page with additional info. I guess it would have been nice to add a sort of highlight for things you can interact with?
Ohhhh, I see. I did find the notebook and instructions but did not realize the beeps would be written down there. I guess I didn't check it again after I had flipped the switch on the radio. I think I will give it another try. Thank you for the extra info!
And a thank you for wanting to give it another try! Hope you have fun!
