Well done. Took me a few tries to figure the game out, but I managed in the end.

How does the game fit the theme?
We thought about a parasite manipulating a host, killing their shelter companions. Therefore, anyone could be infected, and that's the premise: trust no one.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

The apocalyptic atmosphere, gorgeous pixel art portraits, CRT screen effects, and Phasmophobia-inspired parasite deduction mechanics make this game a total masterpiece for a jam submission! The music and visual polish create a top-tier post-apocalyptic shelter vibe that instantly pulls you in.
A few tutorial, UI, and QoL adjustments for your post-jam update:
- Tutorial & Mechanics Clarity: Pause or slow down time while the tutorial is open so players don't lose survivors on a static screen, and explicitly clarify that a survivor must match *both* symptoms of the identified parasite to be the host.
- Interactive Affordances & Controls: Highlight or outline clickable monitor elements, arrows, and keyboard buttons so players know what can be interacted with right away, and add two-way navigation buttons.
- Inspection Logic & Death Feedback: Disable checking symptoms on dead characters to avoid confusion, and add a quick audio/visual notification whenever a new victim dies.
Genuinely incredible production value and execution! If you get a free minute, I'd really appreciate your thoughts and rating on my solo jam project as well: /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4953523
Amazing game. Its a great idea the UI and scene are very good. Love the pixel art, screen effect, lighting. Well done!
DAMN, artwork is gorgeus, I adore the artstyle, pretty cool gameplay too nice job guys.
How do I start?? I closed the tutorial tab but nothing ever happens...
Awesome art!! love this games vibe
The art and sound design is marvelous. You have managed to create a really good atmosphere.
I'm not really good at this type of game but I think it has a good balance between too many and too little clues.
Some points I think could be improve is to give better feedback when things change, specially when a new person dies. Also, at first I thought that the game screen with the tutorial open was a static screen and I lose 3 people before realizing. I think the game needs a short introduction to "set things up".
I really liked the visual style, although the clickable objects should have been made more readable. I didn't realize right away that the keyboard keys could be pressed. It would have been better to switch screen modes using two buttons right next to the screen for scrolling forward and backward. The idea is cool. I even got hooked. But I think the game is broken. I tried playing about 10 times, and not once did the symptoms match the actual parasite
Yeah, I definitely didn't explain the concept well enough in the tutorial, so I can understand the confusion!
The idea is that a parasite takes control of one of the characters and forces them to kill the other survivors in the shelter. You first have to figure out the parasite's identity by looking at the pattern of the victims' deaths. Then, among the survivors, you have to determine who is infected by looking at their symptoms.
All characters can have random symptoms, but only the character carrying the parasite will have both symptoms associated with that parasite.
So if you were trying to match a single symptom to the parasite, that would definitely make the game seem broken 😅. Thanks for the feedback! I really should have explained this mechanic much more clearly in the tutorial.
genuinely one of the best well polished games i ever played in this game i love the visuals so much very well done
Phenomenal audio-visual design! The characters (and parasite) portraits are really well done, the effects are done tastefully, and the music is really good!
I think the thing that confused me a bit at first is that the pattern refered to who is dead, and the symptoms to the person with the parasite, but you can still check symptoms for dead people. Once I figured it out, I got lucky and caught the parasite pretty quickly. It was a bit underwhelming compared to the run when I lost, but it was still very fun idea, and it's nice that you do need some basic deduction skills to succeed
Amazing production values. Great job!
Love it! Great visuals, atmosphere, simple yet great deduction system with the theme well incorporated. Great job on this one! (Only criticism: maybe the arrows on the keyboard or the button you can press should be more "highlighted" in some kind of way instead of only tutorial text, but for a jam, its is great!!!)
The sound, visuals, effects, idea, and gameplay were all really amazing. Great job!
I didn't really realize how to play the game at first, that I had to check symptoms via clicking on the monitor. Once I got it it felt a little easy to piece together since there were so few overlaps, but that makes sense with such limited time to make the game. I LOVE the art and character designs, paired with the music it sets a great atmosphere for the jam's theme. Great job y'all, one of my faves of the jam so far.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! Yes, we actually wanted to add more parasites to give the game more variety, but unfortunately we ran out of time and had to cut them. We’ll definitely add them after the jam!
Thank you so much for playing and for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback!
I like the visuals and concept a lot! It was hard at first to understand that I could click on the monitor on the right. Then once I got it, it still felt like I was doing everything right and still losing. But still, I like the idea and great visuals. Nice job!
The design is off the charts incredible!! I love everything about it.
It did take me a long time to actually succeed in the game - I think because I misinterpreted “Loves blood type A, then B, then O” as the order it likes to eat in, rather than ranked preference, and I think one time the Hunter’s victim was a girl which seemed to contradict the notes.
Overall - stellar job, major kudos to the team on this masterpiece.
Interesting idea! I have some troubles with understanding what I need to do in first runs, but when I get the rules I found game engaging!
