This is very cool and the castle is very well made. My only big problems is that it is very top heavy and when looking from afar, it does become quite noisy to the eyes. Bur great idea and I hope to see you in the next pixel art Jam :D

Thank you, This is the biggest canvas i have ever atempted xD.

I am happy with the result and i do agree! Its not my best work, Its how ever me challanging myself!

Really delightful castle, I love the crystal spike things and the contrast between purple and blue there. The slow atmosphere change from blue sky to the sand below is extraordinarily pleasing too. It may have been more striking if you leaned into that crisp detail somewhat more in the clouds too, either by making them a little bit more thin/horizontal or by giving them a different shape or texture.

Awesome work!

Thank you! I am normaly used to smaller canvases so i wanted to challenge myself with a harder work, the clouds where made in less then 20 minutes so they indeed do be a bit bad.

Wow really nice! I really like the desert setting, it is something that I personally wouldn't have thought of,  but you made it work really well!

I also really like the use of colors on the piece! You depicted the desert really well and your shadows and lights are spot on!

My only critique though would be, that I don't particularly like the bottom dither. While your other dithers (on the top of the sky and on the shadows of the sand hills) work quite great, I feel like this one over does things a little bit. As it over lapses with the castle (losing a little the perception of 3D space) and I feel it doesn't really blend things that well.

So my advice would have been to maybe cut it down a little so that it doesn't go this high up, or if you decide you want it to go this high up, I would personally make it go, behind the castle and remove some of the dither around it (to show that the castle is on front of the sky)

Regardless, really nice piece! I can see that a lot of effort went into this! Good job!

Yeah I am used to small work so i wanted to challenge myself with a bigger piece there was a bunch of shit that ended up hampering me, So I made this as an end result. I am so happy that i managed to finish it in time :D.

Also thank you for the feedback i will take it to heart!

Stepping out of your comfort zone can be pretty hard, and there is for sure a big difference between working on smaller and larger scales! And it can get quite overwhelming the bigger you go!

So I can say that even if you were out of your comfort zone, you did an amazing job with it! And managing to finish it, is for sure something to be proud of! Well done!

Love the sense of scale you get from the little guys down in the desert. This is sick!
That dithering must have taken so much time, but gawd dayum it brings a whole new level to the piece. Bravo!

Developer

I made a lot of custom pens to get it the way i wanted too :D

It takes less time then that.

super fun concept!
