I don't have much to say, concept wise you nailed it. I like the way you paint the scales. They really pop out. Other than that I like the way the jacket is design as well. But, according to your description, should the person has horns while in "full Azure dragon form"?
He's still in half-dragon form here, hence the half upper body is still human. Ngl, I still haven't decided how much of a dragon he'll be in full dragon form (if he'll just retain his head while his whole body is in dragon form... but that kinda looks funny instead of cool ahahaha)
Really nice piece! I really like the character's design, and you did a great job with it! The colors and shapes are also quite spot on, and distinct!
My only critique would be to generally try to avoid having a lot of similar colors stacked on top of one another! I know that, that is quite a vague thing to say, so my best example of this would be at the characters tale.
If you look closely you can see that sometimes you have "bands" of color stacked on top of another. This can give short of gradient and blur effect which sometimes can create a lot of noise and can look a little off. This is something called "banding" and it is something too generally avoid!
Regardless, a great piece and a great character! You did a really good job with it!
Thanks for the critique! I also noticed that part but couldn't quite fix it. I was trying to do a scaley vibes, but failed. Then I tried to fix it, and yeah, still off.
Thanks for the info too. I didn't know about the term banding. Will try to check out more tips related to that.
