How does your art incorporate the theme?
I wanted paint a mysterious door which seems to take you out of this world. But its should not be that obvious. As in my drawing, its a door at the top of the mountain. A person who looks from one side can't see what's in the other side of the mountain.
The ruins , the old armor here and there, that adds up to the fantasy.

I'm not really sure what the speckles in the sky are supposed to be. Are they clouds or snow? Otherwise I think that this really conveys a somber mood well and I love it for that!

Developer

Hello, I was going for a evening sky where stars begins to appear. But some of them got too large when I was painting. So I thought it was fine and kept going. I told my self they are scattered clouds. I like your comment saying it "conveys somber mood". Thank you!!

The broken door and the sky are amazing. The ground/foreground is somewhat cluttered and doesn't have a sense of purpose... more detail or objects there could have improved that. But the archway against the sky!! It's absolutely striking; and speaking of the sky, the choice of colors there is brilliant. The clouds themselves are remarkably textural and unique, really satisfying to look at!

Developer

Thank you, thank you!!

For the archway I was thinking the shadow was towards the camera. Therefore I put darker colors on it. Iwent nicely with the sky.

Yeah about the foreground I have to agree. I still haven't got it how to fill up empty spaces. I just put random armor sets here and there.

Thank you for your comment!!

I think the "should not be that obvious" isn't achieved well. The door is pretty out-of-place, so a normal person would know there's something odd about the door.  A bit more ruins (or something related) that could give a plausible explanation for the existence of the door would help.

I love the concept though!

Developer

Yes, I couldn't picture it out perfectly. I ran out of ideas on what to put more. Thank you for your response!!

Very thematic. Is the door supposed to be active all the time?

Developer

Yes, but only the person goes through the door feels the magic. Every one else it just looks like a normal door.
