Quite enjoyed this! As others have said, it's one that rewards replaying, which I always appreciate.

Until I started looping through to pull some of the narrative wires out, I refused to believe that their mission would fail. The universe was dropping hints that 1) no one seems to care if humans live or die and 2) maybe that makes it less likely for them to be destroyed. But then I remembered what humans are all about, and we don't need anyone's help to do that. Also, while playing I had the distinct impression that the last human will die in a zoo, either as keeper or exhibit. Thank you for clearing that up.

Thanks for the review, and for your meta-adherence to the theme :) The idea of the last human being a keeper in the zoo reminds me of Ishi, the last member of Yahi people, who worked as a janitor in the museum where he was being studied by anthropologists (including Le Guin's father)

At my first playthrough, I mixed the Morely/Cameron choices, then went all Cameron, then all Morely. Seeing both good and 'not-good' news being met by Cameron’s unwavering pessimism and Morely’s unwavering optimism, was really interesting – two sides of a coin, set in their ways. I enjoyed how the start followed the ship’s perspective, and the shift to Morely’s/Cameron’s wasn’t jarring. The description of the places and people was also interesting but didn’t get too into detail so the story didn’t feel like it slowed down, and the focus remained on the main goal/theme. I really enjoyed this! Nicely done!

Thanks! I'm glad it came together for you :)

Started a second playthrough immediately after my first, which I tend to only do if something has really enchanted me. Great concept, great execution, and I loved all the randomised elements.

Thank you, that's really nice to hear :) I imagine you started seeing the edges of the generation but I'm glad they held up to a second playthrough.

The presentation compliments the writing and I loved the concept.  It's an idea that could easily support a much larger game and I found myself wanting more after I finished it for the second time.

Cheers! And yeah, I am considering doing a post-voting update to add some more variation to the generation and depth to the main story
