Ahh okay, I see what you mean now. The semi-static regions could actually work really well for this game. Having different sections that I could mix and match would give me more control over the difficulty while still keeping things unpredictable.

For the skiers, I think that’s where I’m running into trouble. I’m pretty sure I have some scripts fighting each other because sometimes they recognize the obstacles and sometimes they just go right through them. I was trying to have them react dynamically rather than follow predetermined paths.

I’ll have to look more into the ray approach and collision layers. I haven’t messed with Godot’s Path nodes either. Thanks again for taking the time to explain all of this!

Honestly, this means more than you probably realize. I’m pretty new to game jams and just starting to put my games out there, so I really appreciate conversations like this. I don’t have much of a community yet, so it’s really cool to have people take the time to talk through this stuff with me.
