I would have had a higher score, but the lit torch I picked up didn't actually follow me into the room with the skeleton.
I like the idea for the game in general, but it needs some polishing to become fun. Primarily, the camera angle makes it very difficult to navigate around, especially since the player can only turn while moving forward or backward. If this was done to increase the challenge, I can understand that way of thinking, but in practice I think it would be funner to have more control and vision.
Aside from the angle its viewed at, the game does look good. Everything fits together nicely, there's enough decorative touches to make areas look distinct, rooms don't feel identical to one another which is a huge plus. (There is one problem: the walls are lined with torches which can't be interacted with, in a game about interacting with torches.) The icon in the top left is useful for gauging danger, intuitively showing the torch's duration.
The main mechanic of picking up the torches was fairly glitchy for me. I found that skeletons would still happily stab me in the back after I'd picked up a torch near to them. Another issue is that the player doesn't automatically discard a burnt out torch, and can't pick up a new one while holding an extinguished one. This may have led to the bigger issue: sometimes I'd pick up a torch, but then immediately drop it without realizing, causing the situation above where I purposefully went to attack an skeleton without realizing I'd left the torch behind. There was also a graphical problem where, even when discarding a burnt out torch, the player would still be shown having one in their hand.
All that said, it's still great that you were able to complete a generally functional game in a restrictive time period for the jam!
