I'm currently developing a post-apocalyptic dark fantasy survival RPG. The project is already past the idea stage. The core story framework, world setting, major characters and main narrative structure have already been established, and a writer is also involved in the project. So I am mainly looking for an artist to help develop a consistent visual language for the game, rather than asking someone to build the project from scratch.
The visual direction is dark, worn, oppressive and a little strange. I'm not looking for bright or clean fantasy art.
Right now I mainly need help with things such as:
environment / map art
ruins, forests, graveyards, dungeons and interiors
props and environmental details
possibly characters, creatures and animation later
helping establish a consistent visual style for the game
I'm open to two kinds of cooperation, online.
1. Paid work
If your rate is reasonable for an indie project, I'm happy to pay for the work. We can start with a small paid test or one environment piece first and see if we work well together.
2. Long-term collaboration / revenue share
If you really like the project and want to become more involved, I'm also open to working together long-term. In that case, you would participate in the development of the game and receive an agreed share of the game's revenue after release.I'm also open to a combination of both — some paid work during development plus revenue share for someone who stays with the project long-term.I'm not looking for someone to work for free.
What matters most to me is finding someone whose style fits the game and who is interested in actually building something together. If you're interested, please send me:
1 your portfolio
2 your usual rates, if you do paid work
3 what kind of game art you enjoy working on
4 whether you're interested in paid work, long-term collaboration, or both
