Great game! I really like the art and the main mechanic feels like it has a lot of potential. I agree with other commenters that the difficulty was tuned a little too high. There were a few moments that felt quite unfair or required overly precise timings. Perhaps I would have fared better if I also had a fat goose egg.

fat goose egg ftw! thank u for playing!

This game is awesome, expesially in 24 hours is insane, I have no clue how it was done. Good work! I will say the spikes are sometimes hard to see in some segments compared to the rocks.

I learned my lessons during GMTK, and the artstyle was so simple (compared to my previous games where I have to manually redraw every frame to achieve a "sketch-like" visual, I'm looking at the same gmtk entry). Also the pressure that I have uni classes the day after prolly helped too lmao. And yes, the "spikes" (which are water bubbles btw) is hard to spot yep. Thanks for playing!

Stellar entry! Love the sound and visuals, and the core mechanic is really brilliant. Definitely makes things frantic knowing you need to shrink to advance, but your time is short! Unfortunately though it was a bit to hard for me to get too far, I think the game needs to ease into the difficulty curve a little smoother. Other than that, great entry.

Developer

Thank you for playing! It's okay, a lot of people got stuck too lmao. I'll fine tune some of the levels in the future!

This game looks great! Really efficient use of the color palette and limitation, the pixel art is just great. The jump mechanic itself is very well-tuned and satisfying, it is nice and responsive.

The danger obstacles are difficult to see and read on screen. The changing ability over time as the flame dies out is really cool, but it has the consequence of requiring a lot of waiting just to get to the smaller size. With pretty unforgiving difficulty, I imagine many are dying several times to get through each level, so even though you are only waiting a few seconds to change size, it adds up over time and becomes frustrating. The very repetitive music loop exacerbates that as well. The control scheme for the fire shot ability doesn't feel very good, maybe a WASD movement with using the arrow keys to fire the shots might help the player feel more in control.

Developer

Hello, thanks for playing and for the wonderful feedback! <3
First off, yeah I do agree about the danger obstacles being so hard to read lmao, I believe you're playing the latest update and let me tell you it was way worse before (it's colored white 😭), I'll perhaps find more way to improve on that aspect. I will also fine tune and make more of the levels more forgiving (as per all the feedbacks). Thank you thank you so so much!

Really great looking game, and I really like the concept of having your character change abilities over time! I wish it was just a bit easier, and I have to admit I had a hard time seeing the obstacles: while they look great at their current size, perhaps making them bigger could help with that? Great job on the game nonetheless!

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I'm really having trouble how I would improve the readability of the obstacle without messing the limitation. I'll consider enlargening them as you've mentioned!

great classic celeste vibes

Developer

aww, I'll take that as a compliment. Thanks for playing!

Nice game! I do think that the time limit could be a little more forgiving... If I were you I would make the shrinking slow down the smaller you are. (I have a skill issue lmao)

Developer

Thank you for playing! I would take all this feedback into account, will balance the game after the jam, trust. (and implement the slow time when you're small, seems like a reasonable and good idea)

I love the graphics. If you can improve the gameplay, it can be a great game. I recommend using WASD for movement instead of the arrow keys.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I thought godot's default ui_input has WASD built in 😭oh well, I'll be pushing a new update for the right handed people out there!

Very nice platformer, only real issue I had was it was difficult for me to notice the wet floor areas. Very nicely done.

Thank you for playing and the feedback! I've updated the game and recolored the dangers to red, hopefully it'll help future players.
