Hello!  I streamed your game over two different days and really enjoyed it!  When I get the VODs edited, I will post the video to my YouTube channel and share the link here.  If you want to watch the unedited VODs, here are the links.  I had a lot of technical problems with my internet cutting out, which I am almost certain were not caused by your game (a lot of the Itch games I download take too many resources from my computer, which makes them literally unstreamable for me).

First off, this game is super engaging!  The art style is delicious, and Billy's personality is contagious!  I love his sarcastic ending screens.  I feel like Billy would be a really fun antagonist for a mascot horror game.

Also, I just want to say that "The Billy Midnight Show" is a very catchy title.

I had a lot of trouble figuring out the mechanics for the Tic Tac Toe creatures.  I didn't realize that I was supposed to touch the red circles in front of the monsters and stand completely still to let the flashlight dissolve them.  I know that Billy explains that you need to flash your light on them, but the first time I did that, the monster killed me anyways, so I thought that I had to get through the entire level to turn on the rest of the overhead lights.  After I figured out how to dissolve the monsters with my flashlight, the flashlight wouldn't always dissolve them quickly enough, and they would kill me anyways.  I figured out a way to get the monsters to walk into a wall while coming towards me because that would prevent the monster from ever getting to me, but it was really frustrating that I had to do that.

The ending chase with the Tic Tac Toe monsters was also really frustrating because you had to die multiple times to learn the maze and navigate it perfectly.  There wasn't any room for error, so one time when I accidentally hit a corner, I just let the monsters kill me because I knew I wouldn't be able to get to the end after that.  It would be really nice if the monsters either moved a little slower or if there were little traps that I could lure them into to make them slow down.

Some of the interaction prompts are in Spanish in the English translation.  The ending screens also have their instructions in Spanish in the English translation ("Reintentar" and "Salir").  Also, Billy's dialogue was so natural and charismatic that I forgot the game was originally made in Spanish.

I am very interested in the lore and story of this world.  Who is Billy, and what is his goal?  How did he get in my house?  What prize is he offering for me to win his games?  I get the feeling that he's going to betray me at some point.

Overall, very entertaining!  Thank you for sharing your game with us!

Hi KnightAnNi!

First of all, I’m really sorry for taking so long to reply! We’ve just come back from a two-day in-person video game event where we were actually presenting The Billy Midnight Show. It ended up being pretty exhausting, and we were away from social media for most of it, so we’re only now catching up with all the messages and feedback we received.

Thank you so much for taking the time to play the game, stream it, and write such detailed feedback. We really appreciate it, and we’re very happy to hear that you enjoyed Billy, the art style, and the overall concept of the game!

Your feedback about the Tic Tac Toe creatures is especially useful. We can definitely see how the flashlight mechanic might not be clear enough at first, and if the player understands what they are supposed to do but still gets killed before the flashlight can eliminate the creature, then that’s something we need to review as well.

The same goes for the final chase. We want it to feel tense and challenging, but not like the player has to memorize the entire route perfectly through repeated deaths. We really like your suggestion of either slightly reducing the creatures’ speed or introducing ways to slow them down during the chase, so we’ll keep that in mind while balancing that section.

Thank you as well for pointing out the remaining Spanish text in the English version! We’ll make sure to fix those interaction prompts and the “Reintentar / Salir” buttons.

And we’re really glad Billy’s dialogue felt natural! His personality is a very important part of the game, so hearing that he came across as charismatic and memorable means a lot to us.

As for Billy and the lore... those are exactly the kinds of questions we want players to start asking. Who he is, what he wants, how he became involved with the family, and whether his promises can actually be trusted are all things that will be explored further in the full game.

The game is also part of Nocturn Infernum, an Argentine literary universe of cosmic horror that is available in English as well. Since you mentioned being interested in the lore and story of this world, if you’d like, we’d be happy to provide you with a free digital copy of the books through Google Play Books so you can explore the universe in more depth.

Thank you again for playing and for sharing the VODs with us! When the edited YouTube video is ready, please send us the link. We’d be more than happy to share it through Pi Studio’s social media and help give it as much visibility as we can.

Thanks again for the amazing feedback and for giving The Billy Midnight Show a chance!

I would love to read the English copy of Nocturn Infernum!  That sounds amazing!  Here is the link to the YouTube video:

I edited the VODs down to a twenty-minute video.  I hope you like it!  Thank you!
