I don't mind waiting for the update as it seems like they are adding a lot of new content. It's impossible to know exactly how long it will take to complete an independent project like this. One idea spirals into another and unexpectedly the timeline is doubled. Its not a big game company that has everything already established from story to gameplay mechanics etc.
My guess is update will be released around halloween seeing as they are adding a new spooky minigame. Even if its later I'd rather wait a year for them to release a good update than ruin it with a half-assed and buggy early release. All the best to the devs.
