I played quite a bit of this 2 years ago. Quite the task you set on yourself there in continuing support for old savegames…
Didn’t play long enough to notice any real changes. It seemed that when I died, the "Experienced" choices were all Level 1 just like the "Newcomers".

It is strange, but video had no game sounds or music recorded, only steam achievement sound and some muffling in the beginning.
It is cool to see that you play full build, by the way.
"Experienced" guys can't be higher level than you reached in that class (to update the max level from old characters you need to switch to them).
Also, "Newcomers" have no gear apart a single Lv1 weapon, but "Experienced" ones have more gear and it is better if level of char is higher.
