Very relatable story, I liked the world you created! There's definitely potential here and it would be cool to see it developed further into a full game!
For improvement, I think the movement animations could use some fine-tuning (for example, walking left or right looks awkward because the character's torso is completely still. Having his torso move as well will help it feel more alive!) as well as some font errors that caused characters to not load correctly.
Overall though, great job!
