Adding to what this user said (all true), I would suggest you to 'play' with the sliders before creating your seed. The standard values lean towards current IRL values, so if you want more potential partners, you will need to do some adjustments.
click "world generation options" and move the sliders to increase the percentage of gay and bisexual npcs in the world. you can also increase the number of men in the world as well so you'll have more same-sex encounters
