I noticed one opposite effect of wilderness navigation. The Inner Mono wilderness messages said, for instance, "After ten years learning Inner Knife-Wind, you know a route precise enough to follow directly from the wilderness margin in another incarnation." That implies that you shouldn't be able to find inner mono wilderness regions you haven't been to before, unless you go from the corresponding Paragon town. But I was able to travel between all the inner mono regions in one life, learning their routes as I went. (I couldn't travel between the outer dual regions, which is what I expected, because I haven't been to most of them yet, so that's why I kept going between inner ones instead. That will make it a bit more tedious to pick up the routes for all the dual regions if I can only discover one new one per life, though.)
I'm a little confused about one other thing. Are Inner and Deep wilderness regions the same thing or different things? Currently my list of inner mono regions includes "Deep Ancestral Canopy" and "Deep Vein March" but all the rest say "Inner [something]." Why are only two different?
