While AI usage is a heated topic in art/music/writing and sound communities, it's not the same in coding/software engineers/gamedevs community, I want to get a good idea what the majority agree on for the best way forward for AI policy for FeedBackQuest in the future, your feedback will be most helpful and important, please give us your thoughts through filling out the form.

Edit: Found good data, survey no longer needed, leaving it here for archive: https://www.glassdoor.com/blog/how-workers-feel-about-ai-2026/

Itch's community guidelines aren't really negotiable.
I don't see where you can possibly go with this.  Are you going blacklist streamers that don't agree with your policies? Do you think you can  withhold feedback?

Oh, we are not blacklisting anyone unless it's a security concern, and we will abide by itch policy.

The only tweak we are considering via community feedback is whether codes need to be disclosed for the event whether they used AI assist, (their page will still need to label it) because it seems not just the coders, some artists and other communities don't seem to see AI-code assist as an issue, but some do, since code is primarily a language to create tools digitally, unlike other aspects in arts, music, voice that have identity, and self expression attached, that the code side remains to be determined, there's a discussion about it, just want to see where the majority stands.

The good ones know that AI in code is a terrible idea, while the mediocre and vibe coders swear by it. (Except pure automation of simple code that is tedious to write out, but that is not gen AI imo)
It is inherently a AI Literacy problem, because gen AI brings plethora of issues that someone who is not part of that particular discipline might think is a good idea or simply not notice. An artist will resent it if the programmer generated art, but also, a programmer will resent the artist if they generated code.
Might be a smaller issue in a game jam, but those should not become a habit for bigger projects, because Ai code is terrible to scale or built upon.

Although I marked my game as using AI generated code, that is technically not true actually, especially since the language I use is rare enough that AI is not making proper code for me to use anyway, but since my language (Hollywood-mal) is LUA-based, AI generates me LUA code instead of the actual Hollywood code.

Therefore I cant just copy-paste them.

But what I do do a lot, is ask for AI to generate me some code, and then using that as a basis, I write my own code.

I also ask AI to give me names of functions and variables a lot.

I find AI very useful for that and it has made my code much much better and more readable.

Also great for figuring out things I havent tried before. Like just recently used it to help me make my first procedural generation for one game.

Asked AI to give me example and numbers etc. and then made my own version of it.

I have found good data on the different group prefereces, so I will be closing the survey as it's no longer needed. Feel free to check it out for yourself. :)

Lol. Did you forget the point of the survey already? Do you even remember what you asked?

I asked it mainly for code-disclosure policy and needed a loooot of replies/data before that can be solid, the article I found has a bigger data set so that's already been answered.

The next question is "Do we want code-assist disclosure to be counted?" for me that's a different, simpler question than previous, I can ask that in a simple poll, so far I would get more answers on discord than here.
