I really enjoyed playing this game. It took a little while until I figured out some of its quirks. I think the round to round plays more or less perfectly, with some UX improvements. But I’m lacking some meta-progression and variation to continue for more than the half hour I played. Is there an overarching goal we are striving towards (i.e. paying back a debt, becoming most wanted heist lord) or is it a set number of heists we need to do? Also since the only difference round to round that I saw was increasing the quota, it does become a bit repetitive after a while and I think it would need some sort of variation in how the game plays every 3-4 rounds (aka boss heist) to mix things up and keep it interesting.

Very good jam game though!

Hey, I watched your video and really appreciate that you recorded the gameplay along with your commentary. Seeing how someone actually approaches the game and figures things out is incredibly useful!

Regarding your comment and the feedback in the video, I definitely agree that the game takes some time to understand. I initially wanted to make a proper tutorial and introduce the mechanics gradually, but unfortunately I ran out of time and ended up having to throw pretty much everything at the player immediately.

And yeah meta-progression and more variation between rounds are probably the biggest things the game is missing right now. At the moment the only real progression is the increasing quota, so you didn't miss any ending or overarching goal. After a while it definitely becomes repetitive.

I really like the idea of something like a boss heist every few rounds  and even originally was planning to add that. An overarching goal for the run is also something I want to add.

Also I'm actually continuing development with the goal of turning this into a full game and eventually releasing it, so feedback like this is especially useful. A lot of the systems I originally wanted to include, simply didn't make it into the jam version, since by the time I had the deckbuilder + deduction concept working properly I only had a few days left to actually build the game :D

Really appreciate the time and effort you put into both playing and recording the feedback. It helps a lot!

Glad the video helps! That’s the reason I record them.
