Description
I composed a soundtrack imaginated for a platform game inspired on Sonic The Hedgehog games, Music style and arrangements where inspired on Undertale and Deltarune OSTs;
The Soundtrack represents the mystical and calm vibes of the game's art style and ambient;
I composed each track using FL Studio Mobile and using the basic instruments and drum loops that FL Studio Mobile gives on the app.
Message from the artist
I know it's not the best thing ever, compared to other's tracks, but I gave my best to do it. I'm still learning and practicing music, and I only participated this Jam for practicing and testing my musical skills. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it : )
Theme

How does it fit the theme?
The first four songs were made with the intention to fit more with the mystic and calm vibes of the picture, and the text's poetic symbolism. The final boss themes are both like that to represent the climax and urgency for Aria to finally have a chance to return to Heaven, leave the Unknown World, bring prosperity and peace again to its citizens. And the credits theme represents the happy ending conclusion, where the Unknown World is prosperous again and Aria returned to Heaven

AND THIS WAS DONE ON FL MOBILE?! DUDE YOU COOKED
Title theme - satisfying intro with chill vibes, melody-wise has this feel of slight uncertainty because of some chords and I think it was intentional to make the player more immersed.
Menu theme - A nice touch with leitmotifs, and the main melody is simple but nice, a bit too rough chords, but it's understandable since you made this whole track on frickin FL MOBILE.
Feather Garden - the main synth has a weird melody, but I think it was intentional here. Also a tip about the piano - instead of making the chords slam repeatedly like that try making arpeggios out of them - would sound much more smooth and "flowing" :3
Moonlit Sunflower Core - probably the best track in the whole OST both quality-wise and composition-wise. The harp doing 7th chords gives it a slight ethereal feel and the reversed percussion compliments it nicely.
What Remains phase 1 - MAJESTIC INTRO. Buuut, lack of percussion, and the trumpets sound very weird because of slow attack, try moving it closer to zero and making release a bit longer instead. The transition into the "bridge" in the end is heavenly tho. Overall melody sounds melancholic, but not intense nor tense, could use a bit of Frygian mode I think, or maybe harmonic minor for dramatic feeling.
What Remains phase 2 - satisfying Pokemon ahh intro, and HELL YEAH DRUMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Drum patterns are pretty nice, but the melody just sounds off, not even because of mixing quality or the synths, but it just sounds random and at the same time simple. I think first thing you should consider is rhythm - Before making a melody try making a pattern out of notes of the same tone and try making it sound interesting, and only after that make the melody. Also, I think you've overdone a bit with the chords - I think they are the main reason the melody osunds weird, Once again, try making arpeggios aout of those chords or just leave the leading notes from these chords, this way the melody would be at the very least more clear. And now that I think about it, I think I understand why it sounds so off - the whole melody is pretty just the same basic major chord repeating and changing in tone. So yeah, probably making there be a bit less chords could be nice :3
Credits - even despite bad mixing, it does bring finality to the prevoius tracks. A nice thing to finish off on. Tho towards the middle of the song there's the same problem with chords again, but the end of the song is just chef's kiss.
Overall - aside from bad mixing for obvious reasons, some of the songs have a bit strange melodies because of the chords they play in. Also the story is more of a concept than anything, although an interesting one... But dude THE FACT THAT YOU MADE IT IN FL MOBILE... I could never.
mad respect for making this on fl studio mobile for realsies (i have nothing to say that hasn't been said here already..... much love!!!)
A hevenly like soundtrack, as in lore. I liked bass in Moonlit Sunflower Cove
I think as other comments have said, the mixing is a little rough throughout the OST. The use of stock plugins on FL studio mobile I'm sure is to blame but it does negatively affect the OST as a whole.
Don't take that to mean you did poorly. You said this was for practice and I like how much variety there is in the OST. Having a bunch of different tempos and energies is great for engagement and the tracks don't overstay their welcome by being good lengths.
For title: this feels so close to being well mixed/produced but stays a little too cloudy for the duration imo. If you had burst through some of that mud with your lead line in the second part I feel like that would have nailed it. Musical ideas are solid tho.
Lost and lonely: I like some of these dirty chords. Suffers from similar mixing issues.
Feather garden: cool drums! I liked the juxtaposition of your swirling texture tones and the more forward keyboard. It was a bit jabbier then I’d like but it’s still a cool track overall
Moonlit summer: mixing on this was I think my favorite. Relatively neutral on the melody but it’s a great atmosphere
Final boss 1: is this my favorite track?I think so! I like the mixing more and interesting phrasing, great preamble to your next part.
Final boss: phase 2 mixing seems a bit off with some volume jumps/dips that are kind of jarring. Or some places I feel like if they were brighter would have hit a lot harder. Your frantic pianos are probably most fitting in this track although they lose steam at various places.
I really like that sort of build up electric guitar? (Not sure what that instrument is) but you keep it so dark I don’t really “feel” it as much.
Credits: Wasn’t a huge fan of the drowned credits production here. I’d say the majority of your tracks are more on the favorable side of the nostalgic old school game production atmosphere but I didn’t feel that much with this one.
Overall comments: I clearly just don’t love the mixing/drowned aesthetic generally. If you love that, ignore my mixing comments (except on the part 2 boss it does seem like you can clean that up more objectively)
That being said, I enjoyed these tracks! I find some of the phrasing and such especially interesting and I can see the vision listening to it. Creative work for sure! Keep it up!
Cool composition, good ideas going on ! Some tracks feel "limited" by the use of stocks sounds and plugins, but I understand that you made that on phone with FL mobile, so that's already really good. Moonlit Sunflower Cove is a favorite of mine, kind of a Rayman on PS1 vibe ?
i was pretty impressed when i realized this was made in FL Mobile, because i always thought this app was pretty hard to use, but you've made it and it sounds pretty good. although volume balance is strange sometimes, especially in "What Remains" (both phases)
