Oh, we’re really glad you enjoyed the game! ❤️

As for the connection to the theme, our main idea was that, when sitting down to play a game, we naturally develop certain expectations. For example, when the game gives you the option to “grab the steering wheel”, you expect the next thing to be either driving the vehicle or a cutscene leading to another location.

We decided to break those expectations and play with the player’s assumptions. That was our take on “Trust No One”. Even the game itself might not always be telling you the truth.

There were a few other hints as well. One was the poster on the door right at the beginning, with text along the lines of “You are safe with us.” Then there are Buddy’s messages, which repeatedly assure you that this is just a simulation designed to prepare you for crisis situations. After a while, you can realize that this was a lie. It’s not a simulation at all, and the danger you’re in is very real.

We’re actually working on a continuation right now, with the goal of turning this into Act 1 of a larger story. It still won’t be very long, though. We’re trying to make it with the manpower of just two people. 😅

Thanks again for playing and for the feedback! It really means a lot to us!
