I love the game and I also know the creators love their creation with all the polish poured into it.

Few improvements I would like to have:

  • Historian: What defines "Opposite"? What is #1 oppsite to, 5 or 6?
  • Messenger: What does this guy do? Does he give correct answer when asked about other innocent(s) like their position?
  • Puppeteer: What does 'the same adjacent character' mean?
  • The tagging UI clips out of the screen when I interact with lower cats.
  • The cats are hard to make out, as they blend into the background. Maybe some outline would help.
  • The cats meow twice when they die 🤣
  • 1 of the perks show true role per round; problem is I don't know which cat the role card is attached to. The cat's answer box sometimes overlap, but I can mouse over or hide all to know who it belongs to, that's not the case with the role card.
  • Why do some cats have blue/red circles under them? Is it to signal which cat I've chosen as innocent/evil last round? If so, it kinda disrupts the tagging and character selection of the next round.
  • Some cards have inconsistent writing, e.g. good characters/innocents and evil characters/demons (do they mean the same thing?

I only have this many complaints cuz it's a genuinely well-made game. Well done!

Thank you so much for testing the game and taking the time to leave such detailed feedback! I really appreciate it.

To clear up your questions about the roles and mechanics:

  • Historian: The rule takes the total number of characters and offsets it by half the total (rounded). Because I ran out of time during the jam to add role rules based on the player count, it gets confusing on round with an odd number of roles.
  • Messenger: They pick one random piece of information from all the innocent characters' info pool.
  • Puppeteer: They target a character directly next to them (left or right) and force them to act as a "Liar", making them give wrong answers instead of using their actual role.
  • Tagging UI: You're totally right, the UX gets messy at the bottom of the screen.
  • Cat Visibility: An outline shader would definitely help them stand out from the background good point!
  • Double Meows: That one's actually intentional! The idea was to play an attack meow ( two time) when an innocent cat gets attacked by a demon. 🤣
  • Role Card Perk: The UI gets really cluttered when there’s a lot of information on screen. I need a better way to display this maybe highlighting the corresponding card (role and question) instead of just put it in front when you hover over the role card would help .
  • Blue/Red Circles: These are meant to give visual feedback during the innocent/evil selection phase, but I forgot to reset them after the verdict... so yeah, definitely confusing as-is!
  • Inconsistent Wording: Good catch! I wasn't consistent with the terms for questions and roles. I'll definitely clean that up for the post-jam version.

Thanks again for this detailled feedback ! It means a lot.

Does the Messenger info change each round/each card usage or do they stay consistent?

I can think of assigning a different outline color for each cat and their UI, but idk if it looks good or not.

Thanks for the equivalent long reply lol.
