Many others also mentioned finding Chao completely normal and sweet at the start, and I think that adds to the immersion, as that's exactly how he draws MC in!
You're also very spot-on with the details aaaaa I'm so happy someone caught all that!! ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ©· Chao was written with the image of a real person in mind. Even if he's based off of an archetype (yandere), how do I make him break those confines and feel like someone I can talk to in real life?
The motorcycle and introversion things you mentioned are also my exact intention. The photobooth scene was to show his "mundane flaw" in a normal relationship. As well as he tries to hide it, he can be easily jealous.
There wasn't an option to ghost him after the kiss, due to time constraints and to strengthen the concept of the other endings! He wasn't exactly bashful; he was excited and failing to keep up the image he's trying to put up.
There will be more of Chao in the future, so stay tuned! You'll get to see a lot of those things you mentioned ;)
