Description
'Departed Reef' is an Underwater Adventure/Mystery game.
Your boat is capsized in a massive ocean storm - and you pass out in the chaos. You awaken in a mysterious coral city that looks like it has seen better days.
Throughout your adventure, you come across many creatures that have once lived in the city. It is your job to figure out why they left - or if it was even their choice at all.
The genres of the soundtrack range from ambient to electronic. We used Ableton and FL Studio to create these tracks.
1. Departed Reef.
This track is the establishing 'main menu' track for the game.
2. Deep Sea.
This track represents the open water area of the game. The player has to swim all around the reef to locate different clues, and ends up out in open water. Something lurks in the distance...
3. Siren Song.
This track is meant to represent the realization the main character has when they figure out the sirens are the ones responsible for everyone leaving. As the track evolves, the sirens approach with their whale army - and hunt the main character down.
4. Coral Town.
This track is meant to be a finale. You have brought the ocean back together, and the reef is thriving yet again.
Theme
How does it fit the theme?
We came to the idea of 'Atlantis' when brainstorming our idea for this jam. We built off of that as a foundation.

you are SO GOOD at making ambient stuff (deep sea made my heart rumble LOL) i really like how you incorporated motifs throughout the ost! coral town in particular kinda reminds me of c418's music disc tracks which i also really like. great job!!!
Love the sounds in this one! The emotions and story are communicated well.
Favourite track: Siren Song
Very enjoyable front to back listening experience. I love this moment at 0:41 in the first track where it feels like you're jumping out of water. If it wasn't meant to be a main menu theme, I would say build up to that moment from the very beginning! Great work.
Love the vibe of this OST! The soundscape is really unique and well executed. Mixing is definitely your strong suit! I can absolutely hear the Minecraft inspiration, particularly in the last track. It feels like something I'd hear from a Minecraft CD! Siren Song is my personal favorite. Well done!!!!
This whole soundtrack is excellent! I loved hearing the ambient tracks slowly ramp up until the drop in Siren Song. The synths you used were very satisfying in an ASMR kind of way even during the intense parts. This is one of those soundtracks that really makes me want to get in there and unravel the mystery for myself.
