I actually really like this game! The goal is nice and simple, easy to get into the motions without feeling overwhelmed. The music is relaxing and art is so charming and well done. I love almost everything thats here. My only complaints are the hockey stick shaped packages and the location in the manual of the "the location needs a stamp" notice. I feel the notice page should be by the map/prices, I keep my page on the prices part of the manual so it was annoying to have to flip around that much when I needed to double check it. And the hockey stick is fine to have to ship (its an odd shape on purpose thats cool) but its annoying to put the postage on. It feels very finicky, and sometimes it would cover the part of the scale that shows the weight automatically and couldn't be moved.
Just as some general suggestions if the game is still being added on to:
It would be really nice if this game eventually had more in between shifts content besides buying upgrades. Such as: Decorating the booth/office. Im thinking different wallpapers, desk textures, posters, shelfs that have things like plants or figurines or something on there and we need to buy all of it. That kind of stuff. Maybe personal letters you get to read. I suggest a window below, adding a seagull that shows up if we chose to purchase food for it.
Making the newspaper free and including things that it kind of already does but having it affect the flow of customers that day or the next day (as in the article says bad weather is expected so more people are coming in since theres now a rush to send out packages) and then if you wanted you could make a special newspaper that has predicted routes still. And then eventually the newspaper could be replaced by an expansive radio that gets set in the background on a shelf.
To expand on the weather predictions: A window! Remind me I am by the sea! Show me the local weather!
Instead of just an upgrades page it would be cute if it was styled as a catalog we buy things from instead. It would feel like the world expands a little more just by that.
And lastly it would be nice if we can get to know repeat customers. Not everyone needs a story but a few people with unique portraits would be cool. Like a parent whos kid is in the service and getting care packages, a artisan shipping their strange shaped pieces, etc. Maybe if we ship enough of their things flawlessly they give us a decoration/5-piece stamp kit.
