The keys which took me a while to figure out are < (SHIFT+,) and > (SHIFT+.) for going up/down and * (SHIFT+8) for select all in the inventory/action menus. And the ones I couldn’t find out at all yet are ? to describe the spells in the spells menu and \ to show exits and keys.

Another thing I found a bit confusing was, that I had to disable NUM-LOCK to use SHIFT movement. It does not work when NUM-LOCK is enabled. The normal letters seem to work fine. At least I didn’t run into any problem yet.

And there is one more thing which would be very helpful. When starting a new game I need to select the attribute order. It would be nice if I could get a description of what these attributes are used for. Perhaps something like the spell description option. I know you describe some of the things, like wisdom for searching etc., in the tutorial. And of course some things will be self explnatory. But I think that would give the player a better understanding to make an informed decision about this step.

I’ll let you know if I find out more. :-)

Edit: Forget about the part with the attributes. Just me, again, not reading carefully enough. All the needed information is in the guidebook already. :-D

Yeah, I've noticed that num lock blocks the shift key. I guess that's just what num lock does and I'm not sure if I can overide that.

I suppose I could add a little bit more info on attributes in the character creation process.

Maybe I can find a diagram of a herman leyboard and see if I can translate the key codes. It won't be easy to test though.

Perhaps I can help you out with the german keyboard part? I just need to know what you need and how to get that information. :-)

One of my future plans is to migrate the game over to the SDL3 library. Taking a quick look at the wiki, it seems like that library has better support for different keyboard types, so I will probably hold off until I makee the big move.

Glancing at a diagram of the German keyboard, it looks like the ; and : are where the < and > are on my keyboard, so maybe that works. Remember you can also use the mouse to click on things in inventory, click on commands on the side bar, or right click to bring up a commands menu.
