Well, hi there! 🧡 I (Beth) will answer for us both.
- I'm Beth. Technically Elizabeth, but Beth is my chosen name. Angel (Angelique) is my partner in life and in games.
- I think I can safely say we both prefer cozy games. Being farmers, running shops, managing loving communities (or even just being part of them), etc. But this'll split a bit:
- We love PLAYING video games like Assassin's Creed, Life is Strange, Remedyverse (Control/Alan Wake/Quantum Break/etc), Stardew Valley, No Man's Sky...
- We love MAKING TTRPGs/zines that are uplifting and encouraging, but we also touch on darker stuff... I've been making more based on my depression, Angel has several zines and games about identity and loss and her disabilities, etc.
- With this jam, I wanna make my first blatantly trans game. The system is SO closely tied to being trans: others seeing you a monster when you're just trying to live your life, etc. I make a lot of stuff steeped in queerness, but I've never had the player actually play as a queer character. So maybe I'll be brave enough this time. Angel has already read all three games and the SRD too, and loved it all. She's excited to play the games so she can understand the mechanics better and then see what she wants to make, too 🧡
