I had a very immersive experience with your entry, and I felt really like a "golden traveler" when I finished reading and listening to your work. I will comment here some of my impressions when listening to your tracks, and my opinion of the overall work:
Flower Dust (Titles)
- Massive synth swells and rich deep hits great at setting the omnipresent desert tone.
Mirage
- You fully achieved a hallucinogenic track here. Loving the textured soundscape with that shimmering twinkling of the synths and the distorted bells. I think it was the first time I heard of this effect applied to the bells, and it works great. Reading that they are also an integral part of the signaling of your imagined game gives them an added layer of meaning in the song.
Flower Dust (Main Theme)
- The sound design work with the flute against the ominous background is awesome. Feeling really immersed in the sand. The techno-organic nature of the percussion, with those reverby traces of some machine hits is also excellent at the ending.
The song of the wind
- I like how the wind is not only a part of the background, but a voice with its own leading presence in this track. The morphing into a kind or heartbeat, to then become a murmur and finally again pure energy is great and gives a sense of evolution but at the same time predefined fate: in the end we are all just dust in the wind.
I think the game concept could work great in its simplicity, and you achieved beautiful vibes of a nomadic desert way of living, also with the hallucinogenic and toxic qualities of that deep yellow dust. It's impossible not to think of Dune's spice, but that doesn't take away from the great impression and uniqueness of your world, with drawings full of personality and flow. Overall, I found the design had a great personality, and I don't know why but I could picture this as a board game (no, I know why: because when I was a kid I played Targui a lot and this brought back many memories).
Great entry with an amazing atmosphere achieved with the artworks and the carefully crafted soundtrack. Good job!
