Hey everyone!
I wanted to share a tool I’ve been working on called Armory Crafter, a modular 3D weapon prop editor.
The idea behind the project was to offer a library of 3D weapon models but in a way the customers can easily edit the models and make them fit in their projects.
I originally started this project back in 2018 as a Unity asset/plugin that only worked inside the Unity Editor and was based entirely around prefabs, but it did not go very far, so I shifted my focus to 3D animation work instead.
Now, with more experience, I’ve managed to evolve it into a standalone application with a much more flexible workflow, including support for exporting to standard 3D formats such as FBX and glTF.
Some of the features include:
- Combine different part models from the included library using weapon templates.
- Edit colors, apply gradients, PBR surfaces, normal maps, and additional textures from the built-in library to create layered visual effects.
- Create custom materials and reuse them across different part models and projects.
- Export simple or PBR textures in PNG format.
- Export 3D models in OBJ, FBX, or glTF format.
- Save weapon projects to continue working on them later or on a different computer.
The tool was made using Unity, but works as a standalone program (does not require Unity to be installed).

I’d love to hear your thoughts or feedback. Happy to answer questions as well!
Thanks for checking it out!
