how the game fits the uplifting theme?
Nothing in FATHOMS can be lost, and every small kindness you carry down to the drowned town outlives the person you gave it to.

how the game fits the ocean theme?
The whole game is one long dive: a town ninety metres under, and a lantern that burns underwater.

Can you vote for other entries during the voting period? How many?

I haven't seen this Hive Engine before - is it custom?

I went down and lit all the lamps I could see. What else am I supposed to do? Opening the journal seems not to work. I guess I need to somehow replenish the lantern - but how?

Developer(+1)

Yes this is my custom engine. I just noticed that the journal is broken, you have to change the language and comeback in english to have the journal

Awesome! I also made a custom engine - I did it because I'm doing something that has not been done before (innovating). You can check out my game. What is/are the reason(s) why you create your own engine?

Developer(+1)

I want a fully deterministic engine in C++, with my own ECS system, highly optimized loading times, and the ability to style my game however I want, without the complexity and bloat of Unreal Engine, while staying in C++ (so no Unity or Godot), etc.

I’ve been working on it for about a year now. I now have a fairly complete editor and the ability to do many things. In addition, it is not just a 2D engine; it also supports 3D very well.

Yep I'll check your game

Ooooh, C++ - you've got skillz!

Good luck! I am interested to see what game you make next.

I'm lost, but I feel good

Interesting look, and it feels intriguing . I couldn't find anything to do or interact with aside from the two people in the beginning. Maybe I'm missing something?

Developer(+1)

Hey thanks! You have to hold shift
