Took me a little while to figure out some of the mechanics, but once I got going I had an enjoyable time with this one - even as someone who isn't much of a card gamer.  The UI is very slick, I liked the implementation and the audio is extremely chill vibes. Feels like it could have a lot of depth to the gameplay with more card variations etc.

One thing that could be made clearer is how/when you can attack the player (maybe an "enemy is exposed!" prompt or something) - this is the main way to progress but is unfortunately not that obvious when you are playing.

i really liked the concept and the overall game feel! the UI felt a bit too cluttered, though… and honestly, i couldn’t figure out how to win…

Yeah, I agree, maybe I had to left this one on oven for a little longer.
Thanks for commenting I'll use all this feedback for the future improvements.
Since this is my first game all your transparency help a lot

I liked this! Wish you could see an in-depth description of the cards instead of having the wall of text, but other than that, really fun! I liked the designs of the cards and winning made me feel good!

Thank you very much for your kind comment, It's been a blast participanting on my first Jam and I'll use all your feedback to improve this game. I'm glad that you had fun!! Thats the most important part for me.

Quite enjoyable, didnt understand how grafting worked at first but it seems quite fun to mess around with

Thanks very much for taking the time to comment. Player your game too and I had a lot of fun, kept being stubborn on when to fire and when to run, but had a blast playing

I couldn’t always follow the enemy’s moves — who was hitting whom, which cards were being played.

It also wasn’t clear to me that an attacking plant takes damage back. At first I thought it was only the cactus, then I realized all plants retaliate, but I still didn’t figure out every case.

Thanks for commenting, I had some ideas to implement the tracking but in the end couldn't implement on time, but maybe I can improve on this aspect in the future.
If you have any ideas, let me know.

I meant to reply earlier but lost track of it.

A couple of ideas, in case they’re useful: show the card when the opponent plays it, with a clear visual effect for which slot it targets. And for attacks, animate the plant cards moving into an attack position — same for counterattacks.
