I would read more about the starfolk. Short cube-headed TV people? I'm in.

Developer(+1)

They're the love child of Close Encounters of the Third Kind and the amazing sci-fi comic Saga.

Fast and furious scenario, i can see me running this as a tournament play

Two factions duking it out while players gotta figure out what's going on. Great setup. I really like the idea that in years' time the story told of this adventure would become the Fable of the Silver Lanterns.

Developer

Thanks. I struggled with the "fable" part of the name, but I couldn't think of anything that didn't feel trite and grafted on.

Maybe it’s the starfolk’s tv-shaped heads triggering this, but now I can’t stop imagining teletubbies getting shot at by the bandits :D

Developer(+1)

Honestly, I don't hate it.

Nice Wild West vibe! It looks fun.

Fun! You get a lot of mileage out of that first column of text. Dagget's Wolves, cube-faced Starfolk -- very evocative stuff. I really love the way you've implied a Weird West setting without actually saying it.

These encounters all share bones (1 starfolk defending macguffin pieces from 2 bandits), but I like how you've used the varying reactions to make each one unique. If I could offer a suggestion,  I think a couple of interstitial wildcard encounters, with some different critters, could help keep it all feeling fresh.

It's too bad you were time-crunched! I look forward to seeing the 1.1 when you're ready.

Developer

Thanks. I kept the western stuff vague so that this could technically be a standard Shadowdark game or, for sure, be used with Frontier Scum or something.

Good idea about a table of other encounters!

Nice clean layout. Fun premise played straight.  My only suggestion would be to add more Kaiju.  I need to play this.

Developer(+1)

It is extremely light on kaiju!

Cowboys vs. Aliens is so fun. The starmen and their technology are very evocative, like something you’d see in a sci-fi TV show from the 60s. Nice clean layout.

This is really well written. I love the countdown style intro. The factions are strong and evocative and I think it would be a hoot to play. I'm glad you got this in under the wire, congrats.

A lovely little adventure that scores pretty much perfectly on theme as it evokes something of Appendix N more strongly than most. and the Science-Fantasy crossovers everyone knows regardless of whether they've ever read or watched one.

There's a situation that describes what happens after 10 rounds pass. Depending on how a group plays, the amount of rooms or POIs there are to check out, etc, this might mean that it happens when players aren't around at all or at the end of a session but I may not be clear on the mechanism meant to trigger that event.

I also see a few formatting errors that should be easy to rectify.

"Windmill - Creaks precariously. Touching the windmill. Before..."

In this context the "Touching the windmill" explanation is unbolded, inline, and probably wants or needs to be popped out from the surrounding text to prompt the reader that it's an explanation.

A very gameable entry and charming content all around!

Developer(+1)

Thanks. I had a crazy month and was rushing to finish this on deadline, including getting the scissors out and cutting away basically a full page worth of content. I'm sure there's a lot of stuff that could be clearer, along with typos or styling inconsistencies. I'm going to be gathering all of the feedback and putting out a 1.1 version once judging is over.

Of course! I hope it's helpful as feedback for your revisions and is a nitpick given how tidy your module is. Really enjoyed reading it!
