Welcome to the club, 99% of users on itch.io never get anyone to play their game more than maybe a few times ever. It will get lost to the void of the endless sea of games where only 0.1% of games float at the top. Welcome to the algorithm that traps us all (like YouTube, and any other "popularity" ranked algorithm). I'm also in the same boat of obscurity so don't feel bad, just accept that no one will ever know what you did (unless you pay some advertising agency big bucks to advertise).

What algorithm are you talking about? There is no such thing on Itch. On Youtube, the Youtube algorithm will push games onto viewers. Youtube markets your videos to people the algorithm thinks will click on them. Hence all the click bait garbage. The alrogithm does not care if the videos are good, only if people will click on it.

And games do not float on top out of nothing. They need passive and active adveristing. And they need to be good or good enough.

For your passive marketing, you have 5 tags. And I fully disagree with 2 of them. You have a rts with a gimmick. That is not mind bending. And it is not simulation.

/games/genre-simulation/tag-mind-bending/tag-real-time-strategy has your game and a joke game.
