Stories of Survival is a system-agnostic tabletop RPG framework for settlement management, survival and long-term consequences. The Public Alpha has recently launched on itch.io, and I'm beginning to look for artists for the eventual full release.
I'm currently interested in finding artists for several different types of work, including:
• Key/title artwork
• Narrative/event illustrations
• Character illustrations
• Environmental/settlement artwork
The visual direction is grounded, human and lived-in. I'm interested in ordinary people surviving and rebuilding rather than heavily armed action heroes: worn clothing, repaired equipment, improvised infrastructure, abandoned or reclaimed environments, and communities trying to keep functioning.
The tone can be bleak, but shouldn't be relentlessly miserable. Survival, adaptation and community are as important as collapse.
This is paid commercial work. I'm currently identifying artists and establishing likely budgets rather than commissioning the entire project immediately. Individual commissions and staged batches are both possibilities.
Generative AI will not be used for final artwork, and I am specifically seeking human-created work.

Your portfolio must also demonstrate work relevant to the brief. If your portfolio does not fit the visual direction described above, you will not be considered. Please do not waste your time or mine applying for work that clearly does not match your existing style or experience.
Please do not contact me solely with a Discord handle, an offer to discuss the project privately, or a statement that you can provide examples later. I need to be able to review your work before deciding whether to continue the conversation.
