I lit up the streetlight and then I don't know how to go up.

how the game fits the uplifting theme?
Nothing in FATHOMS can be lost, and every small kindness you carry down to the drowned town outlives the person you gave it to.
how the game fits the ocean theme?
The whole game is one long dive: a town ninety metres under, and a lantern that burns underwater.
Can you vote for other entries during the voting period? How many?
Yes, at least fifteen
A few tips if you feel lost:
- Hold Shift to dive. The deeper you go, the further back in time you are.
- Talk to people in town. They often mention something they lost or need.
- Things you find below can be carried back up with E and given to the right person.
- What you do in one year doesn't stay there. Help someone long ago, then come back up and look around.
- Your notebook (J) keeps track of what you heard. Known bug: if it doesn't open, open the menu, switch the language and switch back to English.
- The past remembers what you did. So does the town.
Thanks for playing!
Overall a fun game to play. Reading the conversation below made me realize that not only the game is deep but a prototype to an custom engine! Pretty cool stuff!
All the best for whatever you are doing!
I haven't seen this Hive Engine before - is it custom?
I went down and lit all the lamps I could see. What else am I supposed to do? Opening the journal seems not to work. I guess I need to somehow replenish the lantern - but how?
I want a fully deterministic engine in C++, with my own ECS system, highly optimized loading times, and the ability to style my game however I want, without the complexity and bloat of Unreal Engine, while staying in C++ (so no Unity or Godot), etc.
I’ve been working on it for about a year now. I now have a fairly complete editor and the ability to do many things. In addition, it is not just a 2D engine; it also supports 3D very well.
Yep I'll check your game
Interesting look, and it feels intriguing . I couldn't find anything to do or interact with aside from the two people in the beginning. Maybe I'm missing something?
