I like the idea of the the three step combo to make! well done! Would love to see where this could go next!
Thanks, my friend—we’re in this together! :)
I love deckbuilders. One of my favorite genres of game. Combining cards together to form different sorts of spells is a pretty neat mechanic. I'd love to see you explore more of it. I'll check it out in the future to see if you've made an updates! Best of luck in the game jam.
Thank you very much, my friend—I’m glad you liked it :)!
Really great idea and I can feel the inspiration from games like Slay The Spire. With some love and some more tweaking, the game could become amazing. Happy Game Deving!
Thanks a lot for playing, my friend! And yeah, it definitely needs a lot of improvement—for sure, haha. And yes, Slay The Spire was one of the inspirations for the game. :) I think that after the jam voting wraps up, I’ll be able to look into improving the game and creating a proper desktop version for better performance, quality, and so on. Thanks for the feedback and for playing my little game. Happy developing to you too, my friend! :)
I'm a fan of turn based tactical games, so thank you for making this one! You should include the tag "tactical" to reach more people.
It would be good to include a text description of the resistances/vulnerabilities of the enemy.
The combat system design is interesting. I'm not sure about the requirement to have 3 unique cards - are the cards which are drawn from the hand random? If that is the case then it would not be possible to guarantee 3 of a kind, would it?
Why include an Exit button?! :D I guess it's the pygame framework but it's irrelevant for a web game.
I hope you continue working on this after the jam - there is potential here.
Hello my friend, I sincerely appreciate you playing the game, and yes, thanks for the feedback—you’re right, I’ll add the “tactical” tag as well. :)
Regarding enemy resistances and vulnerabilities, I added icons above each enemy’s health bar: the ones with green upward-pointing arrows indicate resistances, while icons with red arrows show vulnerabilities—weak points that trigger critical hits if struck. That said, it would indeed be great to provide more context and explanation so the player has a better idea of what to do. Got it—thanks for the feedback!
Regarding the requirement to have three different card categories, the idea was based on a combination mechanic where each card would modify the final damage—adding to or subtracting from it—and trigger a side effect on the player. The goal was to evoke the feeling of a wizard creating and learning new spells by experimenting with ingredients, quantities, and elemental effects. However, since I worked on this alone using free assets from Craftpix, I didn’t have the time to fully develop and structure all the mechanics and logic I had envisioned—but who knows, maybe in the future!
As for the exit button, you can just ignore it—the initial plan was for a desktop game, but I ended up trying to export it for the web here on Itch.io and succeeded. And yes, it was built with Pygame, and I used the Pybag library to export it to the web. :)
I’ll definitely think about continuing, man. I just need to look into the assets—they’re free for now, but later on, I could either keep using them or create new ones; I’ll think about that later. Wow, you think it has potential, my friend? Oh, thanks! :)
Great feedback, my friend — thank you very much! :)
I think you posted in the wrong submission :D It's all English on this game.
It was in Brazilian Portuguese, my friend, but I’ve already translated it into English. You can play without any worries now, haha! Thanks for commenting!
