What a gorgeous game! Spoilers below, but I will mainly just be rambling about the things I enjoyed:
I loved the subtle rain, the quietness of it all, like really being in a monastery. The foreshadowing of the "gift" where Hermann's antlers were superimposed was a really neat aspect, as was not showing Otmar's sleeves until much later in the game (again foreshadowed in that first scene). The triptych bath scene had such astounding composition, with the animations on the side and the text in the center, and the frames around the game and the ui established the setting super effectively from early on! I also love how Hermann and Otmar speak in a more contemporary way with the inquisition, while Aubade uses modern language! It gives extra depth to the idea that this angel is something of a different plane of existence to Hermann and Otmar. ALSO the paper quilling and glitch effects used for Aubade are so cool, and I love that the antlers super imposed on Hermann are also paper, of a similar texture to Aubade and its teeth. It's visually striking and ties the two together really well! Finally, the writing was extremely tight, with twists and turns that stole my breath away, such as when Otmar goes to Hermann in the bath, and the execution scene... Absolutely stunning and breath taking, I will be thinking about the execution of this vn for a while.
Thank you so much for sharing!
