I liked the presentation, both the art and the sound are solid. The narrative and the descriptions are quite immersive as well.
Maybe it is a little of player issue but I felt lost the most part of my playthrough.
I talked about the descriptions being immersive and I stand by my point but I was not able to figure out how it related to the gameplay. Even tho I really liked the turn-based combat, the parts where I was exploring I felt like I was walking but without leaving place, I was getting some items but was not able to tell what they did most of the time (except for the venomous debuff and both the buff and debuff that skipped enemy/my turns). I planted seeds but it was not clear what that accomplished. The upgrades I felt did little to help me during combat, maybe I was hoping for more substantial/impactful changes.
I felt I could play for a lot longerif I understood the game a little better. That said, I think this have a solid game loop and I am interested to see where more time of development could take this entry.
This has a lot of potential, keep at it!
Solid roguelike gameplay with graphics that definitely feel otherworldly. Also, who did the sick battle theme music? They’re some bangers!
OMG thanks, to be honest I’ve been so self-conscious about the music and waited for someone to say something about it :D I used to compose music but I’m a little rusty so I wasn’t sure if it wasn’t too much.
I loved the pokemon style fighting and the art was really good
Hehe, thanks! I guess those hundreds of hours spent grinding to beat the Elite Four are showing 😀 I love the enemy characters, it’s a shame Honza, the artist, didn’t have the time to do all of the graphics.
The narration and the atmosphere was immersive, the turn-combat along with the upgrades was quite a nice touch as well.
Thanks! I’ve spent most of the time with the lore and in the end I realized there is no real narration mechanism, apart from those short messages, so I guess people have to use their own imagination a lot.
It's a neat idea, I liked the concept of gene manipulation, do you get to control multiple characters at once at any point?
Thanks! To be honest I haven’t thought of that. There could be a skilltree upgrade that fundamentally changes the strain you’re playing as, but there are so many things to tweak right now, it’s very early.
