As a pokemon fan this was amazing to play. I played till wave 13.
Used the ol' Pokemon Gen 1 strat of super over leveling your starter.
When you're a level 30 rock:
Rock > Scissors
Rock > Paper
Rock > Rock
Nice entry. The audio was spot on, everything that needed SFX had it and there was always appropriate BGM. Very nostalgic.
Nice strategy and thanks for playing!
A beautiful and fun game! You used the same Craftpix sprite than me hahaha. Good job! :D
Haha great minds think alike!
I only got to Wave 7, but this was a cute little game. I would have loved some more options for the battles (even though it's an auto battler, so more choices beforehand would have been nice). But it was fun to play!
Whoa nice job and thanks for playing!
Game is fun, great take on auto battler, could be more clear on what beats what with the rock paper scissors mechanic. died in first round a few times
Good point! I intentionally left out info about strengths/weaknesses so the player can discover it themselves but maybe I should add a guide in the game description.
Really like the game, sound design and the autobattler pokemon!
Thanks for playing!
This is one of the clearer “Level Up” reads I’ve seen for the jam theme. The loop is immediately understandable: pick a starter, auto-battle waves, tame a defeated monster, then spend gold on potions/items or direct level-ups. That makes the theme legible in the first minutes, which helps a lot under Story & Theme Integration. Using Craftpix sets (tiny heroes / predator plants / lines) also satisfies the jam’s asset rule in an obvious, visible way.
For Originality and Gameplay Experience, the Pokémon-style type chart + autobattle hybrid is familiar but works well for a streamable jam game: decisions are mostly about team composition, type advantage, and shop spending rather than twitch inputs. Audio Design is also a strong point, the SFX land nicely and give the battles more punch.
My main jam-side notes: celebration / “10” barely show up compared with Level Up, and the purchased level-ups eventually overwhelm wave scaling, which undercuts later tension. A light celebration beat after a run, plus tighter economy/scaling, would make the submission feel more complete against the jam criteria.
Cool solo entry with a theme-forward fantasy and strong Craftpix presentation!
Thanks for the feedback!
Fun game! I do love the idle aspects since number goes up = brrrrrrr. Satisfying!!
I appreciate it!
Its fun! I feel like the difficulty ramps up a little bit too fast maybe, but I love the variety in characters!
Thanks for playing!
