Ideas from before the Jam

I've been fascinated with these types of puzzles for some time now, particularly since WorkWorkWork came out. I liked them so much I started to develop an idea for a paper and pen puzzle. So, my question is that the idea is pretty developed in my head, and I had even previously made puzzles that I scrapped. I wouldn't use any previously made puzzles or anything, but I don't know if I can still use that idea, or if to comply with the jam, I should come up with a different idea. It's my first ever game jam and I want to know if it's better to just try to think of a new concept.

Since you had previously made puzzles for your idea, I think it'd be best to try out a new idea. Having an idea prior to the jam is normal, but if you made puzzles beforehand (even if you're not using those puzzles), its not really a jam game anymore.

In case similar questions come up...  In general, if you're unsure if you've done too much pre-jam development, the answer is probably "yes, you did too much." Best to just start fresh.

Alright, thank you very much! I look forward to creating a new game and enjoying my first jam. Thanks for clearing that up and for hosting this jam. Have a good day!
