You are also welcome to edit it after the jam as well. It would be nice to preserve a "jam edition" of the game, or something like that, as a time-capsule of what you were able to make during the event, but you're under no obligation and aren't breaking any rules.
Since you had previously made puzzles for your idea, I think it'd be best to try out a new idea. Having an idea prior to the jam is normal, but if you made puzzles beforehand (even if you're not using those puzzles), its not really a jam game anymore.
In case similar questions come up... In general, if you're unsure if you've done too much pre-jam development, the answer is probably "yes, you did too much." Best to just start fresh.
