Nice game Good work

Very well made, I'm just not a big fan of these kind of platformers so after getting C on tutorial I stopped. I still enjoyed the jumping and dashing, tho dashing was a bit clumsy with same hand as steering the character with wasd (:

I'm only okay at platformers and was playing with keyboard and mouse. I got a C on the tutorial and didn't make it through level 1. This game was hard, but it felt like it was suppose to be hard so it didn't really feel frustrating. When I stopped playing, it was because I acknowledged that I just wasn't skilled enough and not because the game was unfair or poorly made.

I personally found it difficult to control the character with A and D. I think it might have helped if I could have used W to jump, but trying to control A, S, D, Space, and Shift all with my left hand was a real challenge. Several times I switched to using the arrow keys with my right hand and Space and Shift with my left, which I found gave me much better control, but then I couldn't use the mouse for the gem dashes. I used wall jump a lot in place of the gems when I could.

I enjoyed the art. While the player was a simple design, there was still a fair bit of character to them. I was particularly fond of the way they looked when sliding down a wall. The movement in general was cute and sometimes it was fun to just run back and forth to watch.

I do think that this could be a lot of fun for people who enjoy fast-paced platformer games.

Demo guy really do go fast!

Before I start you must know I am not the target audience for this game. I dont play a lot of platformers and I dont have a controller.

That being said I had a lot of fun with the few levels I played. The movement feels smooth and free. Liked the wall jump and the right click mechanic too. The level design was pretty decent, and the tutorial explained most things quite well.

I really like the effects too for each ability. You have definitely worked hard on the platforming elements.

Things that can be improved.

I would like it if the game was slightly easier to progress in.

You can amp up the difficulty later but the initial levels definitely don’t need to be very difficult imo.

There is pixel inconsistency in the game, meaning the protag looks more pixelated than the bg

A fun project overall! What are you plans with in the future?

Hi! Thank you so much for the kind words and I’m really sorry about the difficulty, it’s just that I play my own game so much that I begin to be too good at it xD

I’ve uploaded a trailer and a gameplay vid if you wanna know how the later levels feel like!

As for future plans, I have no plan on continuing this lmao, it’s filled with a lot of spaghetti code and it would be a NIGHTMARE to fix everything up. so I think i’m gonna keep it in my page as a little relic :>

Tysm again <3

OK, quite well polished game, but too fast paced for me, and: I don't have a controller currently and all that with the left hand (A,D, SPACE, A, SPACE, D, SHIFT to jump, turn right and dash right) is just impossible for me. It's not your (game's) fault, I'm just not intro this fast paced platformer die everywhere genre.

That is also the reason why I cannot really give good feedback here :-( because "I know shit" and I would recommend to be more forgiving, reduce movement speed, make different = more interesting than hard levels, etc etc... all these statements that quite surely make no sense for you and your aimed at players.

The RMB shooting is interesting but really hard for me to use, too. However:
Here is maybe the only useful No.1-recommendation (but only for keyboard players): RMB is the only thing that I can and (unfortunately) _have_ to do with my right hand (mouse hand). This hinders me to use my right hand for the CURSOR instead of WASD - that _might_ help me just a ...tiny bit... to use right hand for CURSOR and left hand for dash, stump, jump. That said... well... it does not work easily, because it's not just the RMB but also the mouse direction that's needed from the right hand. Soooo... if you would want to think about some crazy alternative to RMB(+mouse) you would have to think about a pointing aid for the shoot direction. Meaning: either the shoot dir is always full automatic or you would have to use some (last) cursor movement for a rough dir and fix the rough dir to the "correct" one... Bla bla bla... this is 1) complicated and 2) probably not dependable a control and 3) only for weird noobs that better should "get better";-) ... which I don't :-P

Reco No.2 is: think about taking the time to do a gameplay video. Reason is: players should also see later parts of the game if they are even cooler than the first levels. Just thinking.

Ah yeah, and for the web version for this fast-pace game requiring SPACE and RMB it is essential that you change the display settings to FULLSCREEN, it's really a must.

The gfx and music is fine and make this "for-me-horror" trip actually still a pleasant, enjoyable, funny time.

Sorry if the feedback is not that useful for you, I am the wrong player for your type of game. Keep up the mood and dash further!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such detailed feedback! Honestly, there’s no such thing as “useless” feedback hearing from ppl with different playstyles and preferences is super helpful for understanding how the game feels outside of our own heads xD

Your points about the controls, aiming, and accessibility were really insightful! Also, I took your advice to heart, I just uploaded a gameplay video so players can see what the later, cooler levels look like before diving in!

Thanks for the feedback <3

I really liked the game. It's a really cool platformer. Of course, the game doesn't quite fit the theme because honey isn't the main thing in the game, but in principle, it's for the best. In fact, the game has very nice animation, movement, and everything else is also nice. I'm not sure in one thing. Did you add coyote-time? and so in principle everything is done very well, it even seemed to me that the collisions were done well, not so that they completely covered everything and did not give space, so that everything was done well, I can also note that the game really wants to be a speedrunner, because I completed the first level in 30 seconds, the last level I completed in 5 minutes and all that, I will say that what is not very convenient is that there is no full screen, because of this, sometimes the game Personally, I crashed because I could click the mouse in the wrong place and all that, so it would be good to add a full screen, music and sounds also fit this game very well and in principle I can say that this is a very good platformer with good potential, for example, instead of a down dash, you added a thing that the player begins to fall very quickly, although on one level there Gravity seemed to change, that is, sometimes I fall quickly, sometimes I fall slowly and all that, which to be honest, surprised me a lot and because of this, the question arose whether you did this on purpose or did it happen by accident or is it even a bug? Basically, if you want to continue this game, it would be worth adding some kind of story, more levels, and maybe different mechanics. But it's a very good game, made in 5 days. As you said, it seems like. Great job. (Sorry for writing so much, and sorry if you didn't understand anything.)

Hi! thanks for taking the time to play the game! For your questions, that gravity issue is actually a really annoying bug where if you die while falling fast you respawn with the same gravity, and I didn’t have time to troubleshoot it xD and yeah, there is coyote time :>

As for the fullscreen issue, im planning to fix it asap :P Thanks for the feedback!

Also, The theme was optional so I didnt make it a major part of the game but still added it in as a collectible :>

By the way, I found one tank on the second level when I tried to run further, but in the end I just ran into some kind of invisible wall that you can jump over, but on the other side there is none, that is, when I go from left to right, there is a wall there. But when I go from right to left, there is no wall there.

I really like this game, especially the wall jumping mechanics. It has serious potential to be great!

great game

this is the kinda game i would play as a kid, back when flash is still a thing. but hey, i just didnt think it plays that well, idk how to describe it, but the control just felt abit off comparing to other platformers that i have played

Developer

Oof :( What exactly did you not like? Im sorry I only had like 5 days to finish this project

Submitted

i came back and played it abit more to figure it out. i feel like the part thats bugging me was that i cant dash at an angel, and i can just power through most of the cases through wall jumps. its not like something big, its just a subtle feeling of like something was off

Developer

I intentionally gave the player a lot of freedom! There are multiple ways to clear a room and the fun part is figuring out how to do it the quickest ;) Also, Dashes arent supposed to work on angles afaik! Be sure to take the time to play through it :>
