The game looks good, and so do the mechanics, but there's room to expand on them further, and the game offers a wide range of possibilities for doing so ๐
There are still plenty of interesting features that could be added to YELL AT CLOUDS while maintaining its current simple and very enjoyable gameplay. Additional power-ups would definitely be useful, such as:
- a temporary freeze of all enemies.
- a fire bubble that, once released, automatically seeks out the nearest enemy and destroys it.
- a bubble that slows down enemies, or a special bubble that explodes when pierced, destroying several nearby enemies.
Another interesting addition would be a temporary shield that protects the cloud from damage, as well as a power-up that pulls all bonuses on the board toward the player. It would also be cool to have hidden passages that allow players to skip the current level and move directly to the next one without having to complete it. Such passages could be very well hidden, for example, behind a section of the board that you can walk through, or after completing a specific task. You could also introduce secret rooms containing extra lives, large point bonuses, or rare power-ups, giving the player a reason to return to earlier levels and search them more thoroughly. Another thing Iโd love to see in the game are different worlds. For example, the first world could be a classic lawn with houses, trees, and fences; the next could transport us to an office full of computers, desks, and electrical outlets; the one after that to a city during a storm with rain and lightning; then there could be a desert; and finally, even a cosmic world with asteroids and planets. Each world could have a completely different level design, its own environmental elements, new enemies, and unique mechanics, but the basic gameplay would remain the same. You could also add a few new enemies, such as one that can eat bubbles before the player has a chance to pop them, a fast enemy that moves much faster than the others, or an enemy that hunts directly for the cloud. It would also be a cool idea to make certain enemies specific to a particular world. On top of that, you could add increasingly challenging bonus levels and very rare secrets—finding them wouldnโt be necessary to complete the game, but it would provide extra satisfaction. And one more thing that would fit perfectly ๐
