Thanks so much, everyone!

I’ve received a lot of great applications and there are some seriously talented artists here. I really appreciate everyone who took the time to reach out and share their work.

I’ve now made my shortlist and I’m no longer looking for an artist for this project.

Thanks again for all the interest in Fractured Mind! 💜

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi!
I’m a solo developer currently working on a psychological horror game called Fractured Mind.
I’m looking for an artist who can create the game’s final key art and a complete Steam art package based on an existing visual concept.
The visual direction is dark, cinematic and psychological, but also vivid and colorful. Strong purple, blue and turquoise lighting is an important part of the game’s identity. I’m specifically not looking for typical desaturated grey/brown horror artwork.
I already have AI-generated concept images that show the general composition, atmosphere and color direction I’m aiming for. These will be used only as visual references. The final artwork, logo and other assets should be newly and originally created by the artist. I do not want generative AI used for the final work.
Concept reference – main direction:
Additional reference for protagonist / facial direction:
I’m ideally looking for someone who can handle the complete visual package, including:
original main key art
adaptations for all required Steam capsule formats
horizontal and vertical Steam/library compositions
Steam Library Hero artwork
Steam store background
an original FRACTURED MIND title/logo treatment
an original game icon/symbol
Demo variants of the relevant Steam graphics
high-resolution source files, preferably layered PSDs
commercial usage rights for Steam, Kickstarter, website, trailers, social media, press and promotional material
The game focuses on psychological horror, fragmented memories, trauma and surreal imagery, rather than gore or traditional monster horror.
I will provide a detailed creative brief and additional references once I find an artist whose style fits the project.
If you’re interested, please reply or message me with:
your portfolio
examples of similar dark / colorful / cinematic work
your quote for the complete package
estimated turnaround time
which source files are included
This is a paid commission. Please send your own rates/quote.
Please do not create unpaid samples specifically for this application. Your existing portfolio is completely enough.
Thank you!
Hi, I'm Eddy, a Godot developer. Saw your post looking for a key art artist for Fractured Mind - the purple/blue/turquoise horror direction sounds striking. If the game's built in Godot, there's a free board for Godot jobs called godothire - takes about a minute to post and could get this in front of more Godot-specific artists. Good luck finding your artist! https://godothire.com/
Thanks for the recommendation! Fractured Mind is actually being developed in Unreal Engine, so GodotHire probably isn't the right fit for this project, but I appreciate you reaching out and sharing it!
Here’s my Discord: johnmaxwell09136. If you’re still looking, reach out ... I have a few ideas after seeing the project that I think would be worth talking about.
Here’s my portfolio:https://www.artstation.com/paschaoluwasegun
Hi! Thanks for reaching out. Before we move to Discord, could you show me 2–3 examples of your own work specifically featuring realistic horror key art, full scene compositions or game/Steam promotional artwork? The artwork I need is not character modelling, but a complete atmospheric illustration with a character, environment, broken mirror/glass elements and cinematic lighting.
Hi I just came across your post and your project caught my attention I am interested in helping bring your idea to life If you are still looking for someone, I be happy to hear more about what you have in mind and discuss the details with you feel free to contact me on discord felixity0590_8859
Hi, thanks for reaching out!
Before moving to Discord, could you please send me your portfolio or 2–5 relevant examples of your work?
I’m specifically looking for realistic, cinematic horror key art / Steam capsule artwork with full compositions and environments, not only character art or 3D models.
Please also let me know whether the work shown in your portfolio was created entirely by you.
Hi! I'll try to put myself forward as a candidate.  I don’t have a portfolio specifically for game development, but I believe I have all the necessary skills to do the job.  I’m not sure what the going rate is for Steam capsules, but my rates for illustrations range from $85 to $100 (we can discuss price for complete package)
Here is my portfolio and a few pieces that might fit the vibe.https://danat.artstation.com/
Hi! I really like your work and I’m definitely interested in considering you for the project.
The main thing I’m still unsure about is the level of realism. The reference images attached to my itch.io post show quite closely the visual direction I’m aiming for — realistic and cinematic rather than heavily stylized or comic-like.
Since your portfolio has a more painterly/stylized look in many pieces, do you feel comfortable working significantly closer to the realism shown in my references, especially for the female character, face, skin, interior and lighting?
I don’t expect you to copy another artist’s style exactly — I’d still want the artwork to feel like your own work — but the overall level of realism is important to me.
If you have any examples that show the most realistic end of your work, I’d love to see those as well.
Unfortunately, the only examples I have are sketches that are about 5 years old. But I don't see any difficulty in drawing in a realistic style.
Hi Kovu!
Would you maybe have an email address or another preferred way to contact you privately? I’d like to talk a bit more about the project, and doing everything through the public itch.io thread is a bit awkward.
Thanks!
Hello, I would be interested in working on the visual package for Fractured Mind. I understand you’re looking for original, cinematic psychological-horror artwork with vivid purple, blue, and turquoise lighting, while avoiding the typical desaturated horror style.
I can help with the main key art, Steam capsule adaptations, library/hero artwork, store background, title/logo treatment, game icon, demo variants, and layered high-resolution source files.
I’m also comfortable using your existing concepts strictly as visual references while creating the final artwork originally without generative AI.
I would be happy to review the full brief and references before giving you an accurate quote and turnaround time. I can also share relevant portfolio examples of my dark, cinematic, and atmospheric work.
Hi! Thanks for reaching out.
I’d definitely be interested in seeing the relevant portfolio examples you mentioned. Could you please share a few pieces that are closest to the direction of Fractured Mind — especially dark, cinematic and atmospheric full-scene illustrations or game key art, ideally with realistic characters and environments?
I’d like to take a look at those first, and if the style feels like a good fit, I’d be happy to send you the full visual brief and references so we can discuss the project, pricing and turnaround time in more detail.
Hi! I’d love to put myself forward for the key art and Steam art package for Fractured Mind. The dark, cinematic psychological-horror direction with the strong purple, blue and turquoise lighting really caught my attention.
I’m a 2D illustrator and character artist with 6 years of experience, and I’d be happy to work from your existing visual concepts while creating the final artwork as original, hand-made work.
