Theme interpretation and application
The main mechanic is like the one from the game Journey, a ring that gets bigger as you hold the button down
Limitation incorporation
I wanted to reference the ARG, so I added an owl NPC and made the story revolve a lot around the moon

Pretty nice game. The art is gorgeous, the player's base movement feels good, and the gimmick is interesting - making all your upgrades modifiers to one central move is a neat way to put a bit of a spin on otherwise extremely traditional metroidvania upgrades, but it does also lead to a lot of accidental activation that got a little frustrating at times.
Where this fell flat was the level design. There were some really interesting ideas playing with the moving blocks in the first area, but by the third area it felt like every room was a big empty passage designed just to fill space, with interesting setpieces or challenges being few and far between. You mention in the game's description that you threw together a very large map in the last couple days, which seems like a mistake - I think the game would've been better if you put that time into a smaller but more focused map with more thought out level design.
I like the art style, the juicy animations and details, is more difficult than i thoug and have to repeat some parts of the cave, but a good experience overall
Incredible art. So beautifully put together! Wish there was music, though. And those flying pricks that shoot at you are awful haha. Really solid entry, great job!
Thanks for playing! I genuinely considered removing the flies entirely, they were annoying me so much while testing XD
I also wish there was music, but I'm not a musician, so I tried a few times to make something FL Studio but I'm too new to it and was never happy with it. So uh...
...I've told myself I'll finally learn music development before the next jam
Very sweet little story! I loved the presentation, the environments look great, Abertha looks and feels super squishy (in a good way) to play and the sound design is pleasant. Bit of a shame that there's no music :(
It feels like the combat and world design as well as storytelling could've had more depth to them. I imagine you had ambitious ideas and the time just didn't allow for it, which is totally understandable. Regardless, it's a very well rounded entry, I like it :)
Thanks for playing! Yeah as per usual with game jams, I had a really ambitious plan for story and worldbuilding and stuff and had absolutely no time for it lol
