how the game fits the uplifting theme?
You start with nothing but six planks and open water no weapons, no map, no plan. Every single thing you build, you pulled out of the sea with your own hook. There's something hopeful in that: the ocean keeps taking pieces of your raft, and you just keep rebuilding, plank by plank, until you're finally strong enough to signal for help. Even when you don't make it, you get straight back up and go again.

how the game fits the ocean theme?
The whole game happens on the ocean ,literally just you, a raft, and open water in every direction. You're hooking debris out of the sea, riding real waves that push your raft around, and racing a shark that lives right below you. There's no land, no menu backdrop, nothing but ocean from start to finish.

This was fun. I was able to survive 3 days.. I drank purified water. I am curious about how to catch fish. I don't think I've caught a single fish in my runs. I had 3 nets up at one point.. no fish :(

nevermind the info is in how to play haha. thats how you catch fish. oops

The managment aspect of this game is so good! Collecting trash while not dying from hunger and atttacking shark at the same time wow

I failed for first two attempts...

Then I built stuff and managed to survive and even got rescued.

I almost died of hunger on second day before I found a fish somehow I don't know how...

I didn't knew that I had to put hook in the water to get the fish... which I think I didn't read in how to play... that's on me though...

Though it was overall a fun little survival game...

Really fun little survival game! I liked the crafting and survival mechanics, and the pressure from the Grey kept things interesting. The atmosphere was also really nice. It could use a bit more story or character interaction to make the player feel more connected, but overall I had a great time playing it.

Very fun little survival game! I liked how the Grey kept a constant pressure on, and while the player could scare him off for a while he'd always come back. I also especially liked the hook mechanic, it felt polished & satisfying.

I think what it needs most is some element of personality, a narrative or "human" element for the player to relate to / connect with. My mind went to something like the Radio in Subnautica and the whole Aurora sequence (I won't say more in case of spoilers, it's an excellent game tho I highly recommend). But maybe you could do something similar where you start the game with a handheld radio, and you receive a transmission from someone saying they'll come rescue you, but before they can find you you'll need to build a beacon.

That gives brief exposition, and also introduces a new character. You use that to build more "uplifting" vibes by tying more story into that character, maybe they contact you each night as the sun sets, reassuring you that they'll find you, asking you about your life, what you'll be going home to after rescue, etc. Something to tug the heartstrings.

Thank you so much! ❤️ Really glad you enjoyed the survival mechanics and the pressure from the Grey. I really like your idea about adding more story and character interaction. I’ll definitely keep it in mind!

This is a well made survival and crafting game - thank you!

It's nice that you included a "How to play" section within the game.

I hit a bug where after I got away from the tab and returned the pointer did not get recaptured and I could not look around. But then I opened the crafting menu (Tab) the pointer was recaptured.

It is nice that the purifier, the grill and the beacon are also light sources - a mechanical way to uplift (keep up the spirits).

I was relieved that the character was about to be saved + the repeating alarm of the beacon => I ignored his thirst and he died 30 seconds before the help arrived. This caused the ending to have the opposite effect of uplifting. You can see on the image the activated beacon in the background.

I'm thinking this can be avoided if either the thirst and hunger needs get suspended when the beacon is activated or make them as noticeable as the alarm of the beacon.

Mechanically the game is well made, but I don't think it manages to evoke positive feelings... Maybe that is why there are 8 ratings but no comments? Personally, I'm not bothered, but I guess you can make the game even more uplifting by including some appropriate music and more "juice" when beating the odds - for example when placing the purifier, grill and beacon play some cheerful tune, render some cool animated UI, etc.

Good luck!

Thank you for playing and for the detailed feedback! ❤️ Glad you liked the crafting and lighting mechanics. I’ll definitely work on making the ending feel more rewarding and fixing the small bugs in a future update!
