How does your game fit the main theme "Dinosaurs"? Please, explain.
You are battling dinosaurs in a futuristic underground cock fighting ring
How does your game fit the additional theme "Anachronism"? Please, explain.
You are in a futuristic cockfighting ring where scientists are using a cocktail of drugs to devolve chickens into dinosaurs for blood sport.
This game was super fun! I've only played a few games so far but this was certainly the standout among them! I can't describe to you the way I hollered when I saw the dinosaurs slingshot across the screen for the first time. Figuring out how to evolve (and more importantly devolve) my party to become a truly fearsome force was great. Also was there a reason to become a single cell organism?
I don't think there was really any issues with the game other than it bugging out sometimes. I found I could reload the webpage and keep my progress when it did this, but it was still pretty frustrating since it was a regular occurrence. But otherwise it was just a genuinely wonderful experience. And super impressive for a game jam game.
Also, can you guess which dinosaur was my favorite? I bet you can't guess.

That party is stacked! Therizinosaurus is pretty goated, especially with the spiked collar! Im guessing you won that fight lol
So the single cell organisms were intended to be a swarm mechanic, but I was having trouble balancing them,they were always either way too weak or way to strong. If you bounce them on the wall or floor hard enough they will split and double in number, as a result they are really hard to kill all of them. I figured I would keep them weak and just make it a space where you get stuck if you accidentally overshot your devolve. I tried to make it so each dinosaur felt unique in gameplay so they each have different little triggers and abilities, wasnt able to get every dino, but most of them should have some trigger feature.
I wish I had more time to clean up the physics. There also was a game breaking bug where certain enemy squads would not spawn their dino in the field which I somehow managed to introduce on the last day and didn't catch until after submission :'''(

Oh no! That is a tragic place to get a game breaking bug :'(. When playtesting it last night we noticed it would happen very rarely, however in the last minute furry of everything we didnt get a chance to fix it before submitting. Thank you for playing, glad you enjoyed!
