This is amazing! Its incredible you got this much done in this time! I love the fact that there is both top down and side scroller sections in this, it really keeps up the interest while playing.
If I had a gameboy, I would download the rom and play it on it, but sadly I dont have one.

I actually intended to add a lot of other things that I ended up not having the time for but I’m hyped about what I shipped either way.
I sincerely doubt I would’ve made it at all if my wife hadn’t done the music for me lol.
I'm in the same boat. If my girlfriend hadn't helped with the art, and made the cutscenes, my game would've sunk before it even got it's maiden voyage 💀

I originally intended to make the dungeons a lot crazier. I had a bunch of scripting done to randomize them even more (item placements, additional rooms, layouts, etc) but I kept running into bugs that I knew I wouldn’t have time to account for so I scaled everything back.
Still happy with how it turned out though!
Nice title lettering, hand drawing a script face that still reads at gb size is hard and that one lands. and splitting the hud into ship hearts and player hearts and shards, all labelled, means you know where you stand at a glance. nice job
